Rosemary. Another pungent herb, especially when picked fresh in the summertime. Rosemary mellows in the winter.
8 Things To Do With Rosemary (not your girlfriend)
1. Potatoes, brushed with olive oil and topped with lots of finely chopped rosemary and a little sea salt, are delicious when roasted.
2. Drizzle fresh asparagus with a little olive oil add lots of chopped rosemary, a little sea salt and bake at 350º for 15-20 minutes.
3. Add a small sprig of rosemary to freshly-made lemonade, chill for an hour (the lemonade; but you can chill, too). Surprisingly delicious.
4. Add finely chopped rosemary and a little sea salt to fine breadcrumbs (gluten-free, if you so desire) and coat a salmon filet that has been brushed with a little olive oil with the breadcrumb mixture. Bake uncovered until the salmon is flaky & moist (25-30 minutes at 350º)
5. A little finely chopped rosemary peps up deviled eggs.
6. Add rosemary leaves, salt, pepper & a drizzling of olive oil to a mixture of carrots, parsnips, onions and brussels sprouts and bake at 350º for 1 hour or so.
7. Add a little chopped rosemary to vegetarian chili and bean-based soups near the beginning of the cooking process when you start to simmer your soup or chili.
8. Try a little finely chopped rosemary and a squeeze of lemon juice as a garnish for fresh pears.
